To begin, I don't read much comics. Most of my knowledge of Marvel has come from the films, animated series and movies, YouTube, and my own Wikipedia research on various characters/storylines. Taskmaster, as a character, always interested me. His power, the ability to remember and copy perfectly fighting styles and voices is really unique.So, when I did some searching and found the Taskmaster 2002 series. I planned on buying the issues individually, but saw that it came with this collection as well as with the Taskmaster 2010 and some one-shots.Overall, without knowing much about Taskmaster beforehand, this book kept my attention. I couldn't put it down in some places and the twists (no spoilers) did surprise me. Again, the book did all this without me needing to have encyclopedic knowledge of Marvel.One con that I didn't like was a character by the name of Don of the Dead. To me he was annoying, over-the-top, forgettable, but not enough to spoil the story.Good artwork, particularly the 2002 series, and I was a big fan of the bonus material in the back of the book, especially the breakdowns of the various criminal organizations in the book.In essence, good introduction to Taskmaster and worth the buy. I had a lotta fun learning about Taskmaster and how his morality shifts with good plot twist, origin and memory side effects. The art is cool showing him use other heroes' moves being drawn on him like Spiderman or Captain America. Art quality can vary in a couple scenes (Fantastic Four looked bad) but it's not too problematic.
